Issues

I am running for Doraville City Council because I am passionate about keeping Doraville a diverse, family friendly community with safe streets, good schools, a clean environment and equal justice for all .

I will work for and support:

  • Our children are our future. They deserve a good education.
  • We need improvements in our existing Schools. Eliminate overcrowding.
  • Protect Our Historic Neighborhoods.
  • Develop more Sidewalks, builds bike lane, better access at neighborhoods.
  • Lowering property tax and increasing property value.
  • Support Uniform and fair Code Enforcement.
  • Promote Green Space and environmental initiatives city-wide.
  • Community outreach, public events and activities to beautify our city
  • Develop and restore a positive City Image.
  • Remain Accessible and accountable to the citizens of Doraville.
  • I will promote Community Policing in our neighborhood.
  • Encourage Businesses to create more jobs.
  • Smart Growth for the City of Doraville.

Community Health Centers for the uninsured and under-insured.

I believe good health care is a human right. DeKalb can do more to see that our less fortunate people have a place to get examined and treated without insurance. Costs and fees would be based on the ability to pay.

Expand the Voter Base and make sure no one is denied the right to vote

In Georgia, over 75,000 people who registered in the last 29 days before the election, were not allowed to vote for Governor, State Senator, State and Federal Representatives, Mayors, County Commissioners and City Councilmen. If elected I will work with the Georgia Legislature to allow registration up until election day as many states already allow. Voter suppression is real and must be stopped.

Use more community policing to keep our schools and neighborhoods safe

As Doraville’s population ages, our seniors are more vulnerable to criminals who would burglarize and invade their homes. School children, at home for the summer, are playing in the parks, playgrounds and streets of their subdivisions. By assigning more police to neighborhood patrols, we can make our streets, neighborhoods and schools as safe as possible. I fully support this effort.

All of us need to come together and make Doraville a beautiful,

safe community and "A GOOD PLACE TO LIVE " !
