Commitments

It is time to ask more from our City government, develop our resources and attract new businesses, I want to beautify our City, build new parks and educational facilities. We have a wonderfully diverse City.

With the right leadership Doraville would continue be a thriving and flourishing community. I am more than willing to serve Doraville but I cannot do it alone.

I need your help both during the campaign and afterward Doraville is OUR City. I am grateful for all my wonderful supporters.

Together we can build a greater community. A neighbor-friendly community.


I fully support holding public meeting at the most convenient time to allow as many people as possible to attend. I support video streaming of all public meetings and most of all, I will encourage our staff to be courteous, helpful and neighbor friendly.
Teenagers often use poor judgment, run with the wrong crowd and get on the wrong side of the law. For parents without the ability to hire a good lawyer, the teenager is left with a criminal record that will keep him or her from getting a good job (military, government or civilian.) I support wiping the record clean for non-violent young offenders, to give them a second chance at a full and productive life.
I believe in efficient government and will work to keep city taxes low while we provide good government services. Low taxes will attract new businesses and bring good jobs to Doraville.. I will always support efficient government and low taxes – THAT’S A PROMISE
Our children are our future. They Deserve a good education. We need improvments in our existing schools, Eliminate overcrowding.
To make our city safer and do a better job of aiding our residents, I will have all our police officers cross-trained as Emergency Medical Technicians. (EMT’s)
This will ensure that critical first-aid services are nearby and fully trained. Our Officer will patrol the neighborhoods more then ever to prevent crime and home burglary in the city. Your family is my family,Your Safety is my priority.
There is no DeKalb County Fire Station in Doraville or Chamblee. That means it takes longer for first responders to come to the aid of the residents. In an auto accident, home fire, heart attack or stroke the difference between life and death may be a matter of minutes.
I will make it one of my first priorities as Councilman to convince DeKalb County to build the next Fire Station in Doraville.
The Name of the Game is JOBS- JOBS- JOBS. To those of us that have either been fired, laid-off or downsized, we know what a devastating affect that can have on ourselves or our families. We must keep Doraville business-friendly, encourage development and work to attract high-paying, eco-friendly jobs. We can attract new and keep our current businesses. I will work closely with the Chamber of Commerce and State and Federal Governments to let them know, DORAVILLE IS OPEN FOR BUSINESS.

At the same time, I will protect YOUR neighborhood from unwanted development, keep YOUR water and air pollution free, and make Doraville a CLEAN community.

People of all ages and abilities should have easy access to their community “on foot”. An automobile is not needed for every trip. People walk more and the community and want neighborhoods that are safer, healthier, and friendlier places. Parents like to feel comfortable about their children being outside in their neighborhoods; they don’t want to worry about the threat of motor vehicles. Children spend more time outside with other children and are more active, physically fit, and healthy. Streets and highways should be designed or reconstructed to provide safe and comfortable facilities for pedestrians. Ideally, pedestrians are given priority in neighborhoods, work, school, and shopping areas. Motor vehicle speeds are reduced (and, in some places, motor vehicles could be eliminated entirely) to ensure compatibility with pedestrian traffic. I will work to make all our city roads are bike and pedestrian friendly.
There isn't a lot of vacant and unused land in Doraville. I support improvments of all our parks and playgrounds. Basketball courts, pickle ball and shuffleboard courts, park benches, Tennis Court and environment friendly greenspace. I will do my best to create pocket parks in or near your neighborhoods. It will make Doraville a better place to live!

Senior citizens bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to our community. They are an untapped resource that has been overlooked. I will involve them in our government, seek their advice and follow their recommendations on how to make DeKalb a safe, secure, low-crime county, welcoming to all seniors. As Commissioner, I will also partner DeKalb with Non-Profit Organizations and Community Groups and Leaders to get them to help connect with our senior citizens

I will say NO !!!, to more extended stay motels in Doraville and will form a public/private partnership with contractors and developers to rehabilitate run-down and dilapidated properties. We need more owner occupied affordable homes; people who have a stake in our community

My administration will work with non-profit groups like the Sierra Club, local garden clubs, local community groups, leaders and the State of Georgia to plant flowers throughout the county. We will beautify neighborhood parks, government buildings and neighborhood entrances and alone with I-285 interstate ramps has flower bedding. I am sure our local businesses will join in the effort to make Doraville one of the prettiest City in Georgia. A city we all can be proud of.
